El Jefe, brainchild of Barrio Funky has got a new style in his bag. For the New Year Its Barrio Beat !
Barrio Beat- La’s newest Latin all vinyl dance party
A new monthly night club with roots that expand the Latin universe. From the brainchild of Barrio Funky which had a good run of 8 years introducing Los Angeles to new breaking artists such as Thee Commons, Buyepongo, Quita Penas, Palenke Soultribe, La Misa Negra, Chicano Batman, La Diabla and many others.
In continuing the tradition of keeping it Funky and Latin, L.P Correa aka King Steady Beat has got a new venue and new name for the new year.
Saturday January 12 is opening day. Helping us celebrate will be Very Be Careful, LA vallenato kings and new and up and comers Ocho Ojos from the Coachella Valley.
Part of the uniqueness of Barrio Beat is the Djs musical selections, you can hear a Psych Cumbia followed by some Boogaloo then followed by a hard Salsa dancer all on vinyl. All while anticipating the underground local acts lined up to play.
Barrio Beat happens every 2nd Saturday of the Month at The Redwood Bar 316 W. 2nd St DTLA.
